Hayley (of Born Squishy) is back! Her return post is exactly what I needed to read right now. I’ve been feeling a little let down since the race, and it’s been hard to get back into the gym when I don’t have a clear-cut training goal anymore. I’ve given up on weight loss as a reliable metric, so what’s left to motivate me? I think Hayley’s provided me with an answer.

  1. i’m right there with ya, sista. running 40 minutes a day four times a week was a lot easier to do when (1) it was 30° cooler out and (2) i had a tangible reason to do so. i’m hoping to get back on that horse, running 30 minutes three times a week for no other reason than to get back and keep that level of fitness i had a month and a half ago.

that and the fact that i’m not feeling quite as svelte, nor can i indulge the way i could when i was in training. best of luck to you in rediscovering your motivation!

  2. Thanks. I didn’t feel very runnish last night, so I decided to try my weights workout again (which I haven’t done in months). Good GRIEF. My legs were fine from all the running, but my arms and abs have turned to jello. I’m damn sore today. But it was a nice change of pace.
